No, but Russia invariably gets Military Tradition way way before China does. So the era of the Rider overlaps the era of the Cossack for significant centuries. Again, this is in the games I play, which are on regent and monarch.

I am not sure, but to me it looks like you are comparing your performance with a certain UU with an AI performance with a different UU. And I think you just can't do that. It is even more flawed when you factor in a tech lead.

Doing the same comparision the other way 'round, I see a (human controlled) China with Chivalry and Riders mopping up a (Computer controlled) Russia that is still in the AA and builds swords.

Bucky, think of N. B. Forrest, about getting there first, with the most men. That's why the rider is popular, it isn't any better at what it does but it gets there faster.

When I first got the game I played the Americans, but mostly for jingoistic reasons.

I started with playing the Americans too, but mainly because I could remember how to spell the city names. England came second for the very same reason. I still have trouble figuring out how to pronounce some of the other civs' city names.
