after taking a sec to theory craft, i think this might be the highest possible yield holy site (feel free to correct me if you come up with something better):
playing as khmer (food equal to adjacency, river adjacency)
either desert folklore or dance of the aurora pantheon
work ethic belief (production equal to adjacency)
hildegard of bingen (science equal to adjacency)
adjacent to river (+2)
adjacent to both tiles of pamukkale (+6)
adjacent to four tiles of tundra or desert depending on pantheon, (+4)
each of which contains a district, (+2)
and one of which is a government plaza (+1)
scripture policy card (x2)
(2+6+4+2+1)x2=30
30 faith, 30 food, 30 production, and 30 science, all in one district, not counting specialists
but good luck finding a tile adjacent to both tiles of pamukkale, a river, four desert/tundra tiles AND knowing of it before even picking your pantheon...!!

Great breakdown of the best possible Holy Site. I'm trying to do a deity 1 city challenge in the tundra, so i looked for this wonder for a fighting chance. This bonus uses pretty much the same calculations that you presented. Dance of the Aurora gives +5 in this case and I'm missing the river.

Hello, this is my first post here.

I like theorycrafting. So 30 is alread good, but with secret societies you can get even higher. Each district can be placed on a ley line which provides another +2 adjacency. Normally you can't place districts there, but if you place them before you join the Hermetic Order, it will work. So with that each tile gives a +3.5 adjacency bonus (1 tundra + 2 ley line + 0.5 district). Since this is higher than Pamukkale already, you don't need this one at all anymore. So you get 3.5 * 6 = 21.

Now you can have only one government quarter as a single civ, but these government quarters don't need to be all yours right? So you should theoretically be able to get 6 of theses around your holy site, which gives another 6 = 27.

Add 2 for the river and you get 29.

*2 for Scripture and you end up with +58 faith, science, food, and production. What a beast!

Wow! I thought I was doing okay in my current game with 3 sites at 12 and 1 at 8. My start was on the northern part of a Pangea and to the south of me was a desert that fit 2 Oasis. The Natural Wonders were all on the opposite sides of the continent. At the current stage, we have 12F12h.

I suppose Crow is right, but the 6 government thing is just silly. lol. You also can't play a legit game by looking at where the ley lines are, reloading, placing a city in the right spot followed by districts in specific spots that you aren't supposed to know and then taking hermetic order. The theory though, is sound!

Yes, sure, this is all purely theoretical. I don't think the map generator will even be allowed to place ley lines in a formation like this.

I found that you can get even go a bit higher. If these government plazas are built by Vietnam (several Vietnams), they will be built on woods, and woods will give another 0.5 adjacency bonus for your holy site. So you will get to 31 (only +2 because your own plaza can't be built on woods, while you can conquer Vietnamese cities and have your districts placed on woods, you can never conquer a government plaza, as far as I know).

So it's +62 instead of +58.

If you just care about high numbers, you can use Japan instead of Khmer. You will lose the food bonus and the river adjacency, but get 3 from district adjacency (1 each instead of 0.5), so the base will be (6*5 + 2)*2 = +64. I think Australia can reach +64 too.

I usually just ignore Hildegard on Deity.
Attempting to get her is close to playing the lottery, and dumping many thousands of faith for +20 science is usually never worth it (if you even get the chance).
If you can get her for cheap and have super strong holy sites, by all means go for it.
That's a pretty big if though.
