Most Japanese translators are horrible. They basically just translate words in a sentence and cannot handle grammar. Even the translation of the words isn't accurate because different characters have different readings depending on how you use them. If you want to translate an entire web page, there is no real accurate way to do it with knowledge of basic Japanese. A majority of the sentences won't make any more sense than they do on babblefish or google translate. The tools also have no ability to deal with slang or casual speech.

This is the best set of online translation apps I have run into:

http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1C

It can be hard to use though, but it is made for people who are studying Japanese. Instead of just pretending it can translate sentences correctly, it gives you the option of breaking the sentence down and showing you the possible reading for each character etc. It also does a better job of recognizing the grammar. The biggest problem is you often get too many possible results.

Thank you very much!
