I prefer both small and tiny, but especially Small/Continents.
I like smaller maps because my PC crawls during turns on the larger ones. And continents still allows some naval aspect to the game, yet doesnt isolate civs like the archipelago does at times.

Plus, I cant stand sending an invasion fleet to an enemy continent and it takes several years in game like it does on the larger maps. I was in the US navy, we usually got to where we wanted to go in days and weeks :-)

My vote goes for large continents (with standard continents coming in a close second). I find that huge maps bring my AMD 900 to its knees later in the game.

Huge - Continents for me.
In this case, i can squeeze in all the civs, and will be able to make good use of both my land and naval units! ;)

I prefer large continents. Standard are nice too. I like to have alot of civs, but I don't like long games or the waits I get on huge maps.

Huge continents for me but I am still dreaming of gigantic!

I voted "other" because your poll lacked the best setting: all random. Not knowing the shape of the world before having discovered makes the early part of the game much more interesting.

I like Pangea best of all. But I play continents in about a third of my games.

Huge, Small, Tiny. . .all depends on how quickly I want to play.

I've ben playing for a couple of years now (since CivIII came out ) and I have played every game with a random age, climate, etc

The only things I always set myself are

Difficulty level + Barbarian level (otherwise I will be mullered by about 100 AD ) :p

I read a lot of the threads in succession games forum (where most games seem to prefer panagea) , and have learnt a hell of a lot from them but I think at my level ( ie struggling monarch ) I am not good enough to micromanage as much of the guys and gals playing there therefore I will probably learn more at the lower by playing random.

Should have mentioned I also always play random civ (boring I know, but until I get to emperor level there is probably no point )

I prefer large continents. Many Civs, a lot of trades, and the chance to pick on the stragglers. ;)
