Best Shogun Unit?

The variety of units in the Shogun Conquest is a real pleasure to play with, and I wish that plain ol' Civ had such profusion in such a constricted time span. I played out a campaign and was thrilled by the ability of yamabushi units to drive deep into enemy territory and cut their supply lines while defending themselves valiantly. Just as useful in the late game, the ninjas could walk up to enemy capital and take out badly underdeveloped AI daimyos with no problem.

What do you reckon is the best unit?

I thought the only Shogun units were the ones you start with, and the other thing.
Anyways, I voted the Mounted Archers.

The BEST unit??? that would be the daimyos of course long upgrade path and highest stats of all, and equally good on defense as on offense, therefore I voted that you were under rating the unit called ...

Yes, but if you lose a battle with the daimyo...

And don't protest that it will have better stats... we all know about tanks vs. spearmen...

No, the Samuarai Arquebusiers are clearly the best. I had terrible rotten luck with my ninjas.
