Pyramids!

GL expires before halfway through the next age.
Pyramids will hugely help your growth and it'll never expire. A decent sized continent would be nice though...

For the lucky people : Question about best way to use early SGL (from Literature).
Do you build Great Library or Pyramid (at Emperor level or above on Regular Map)?

Recently I used it for Pyramids.

Depends on how many granaries you already have and how early it is in the game. The earlier, the better it is to choose Pyramids.
Furthermore the AI is likely to complete the Pyramids earlier. On advanced levels, you can at least occasionnally beat them to the GL, but hardly ever to Pyramids.

This is a tough one, but if you have a choice, on emperor+ I would say GL since you are so far behind in science that the GL boost gets you back on track. Also pyramids tend to grow your cities too fast sometimes, so that the luxury slider is too high for you to remain competitive on either the commerce or science rate. Right now my deity city growth is just fine without pyramids except for the early settler pumpers which are useless now, and once your city reaches 12 (with granary) it waits too long on 12, and once you can build hospitals, granaries are cheap anyway.
