No new news from me. I shut down my computer for a few days to clean it out. I do that every year to get all the bugs out and dust, my fans were coated with dust causing my computer to overheat and run slow.

Rocoteh
That sounds good, after the French military is done, Poland should take no time at all.

I hope to get an update up for download in the next few days. It should have the rest of the German military done and some of the French units should be in too.

Rocoteh what units should be panzergrenadier units for Germany? I'm think they had a few at the start but I could be wrong.

Meateater,

No, you are not wrong on the Panzergrenadier units

September 1939 Germany had 4 Motorized Infantry Divisions.

Later in the war Wehrmacht would have 10 Panzergrenadier
Divisions with these numbers: 3, 10, 15, 16, 18, 20, 25, 29,
60, 90. Then Waffen SS had 5 Panzergrenadier Divisions.

When can argue over at which time during the war these units should be named Panzergrenadier.

Thus I think its OK to treat the 4 Motorized Infantry Divisions
as Panzergrenadier.

With regard to the French OOB September 1939 I have
found a very accurate OOB.

There is just one problem....

Its presented in a very confusing way, and you must have
a very large map of France in front of you when reading it... I deliver some initial units:

Caen: 5 Motorized Infantry Division
Lille: 1 Motorized Infantry Division
Rennes: 19 Infantry Division, 505 Tank Regiment, 509 Tank
Regiment, 1Spahi Cavalry Brigade.
Paris: 3 Cavalry Division, 182 Artillery Regiment, 503 Tank
Regiment.
Le Mans: 106 Artillery Regiment, 109 Artillery Regiment
Nantes: 21 Infantry Division, 3 Motorized Infantry Division.
Angers: 2 DLM Mechanized Division, 12 Motorized Infantry
Division, 512 Tank Regiment.

Well I think I continue at a later time.

Nice Rocoteh
I will get them units in the next version 2.6
2.5 is up with the rest of the German military, and some of the French military. Let me know if anything needs changes.

I had to take some time to locate a problem that I am having with my computer. Not sure if it is a worm or what but it was eating up all my memory. svchost.exe has something to do with it, I could watch it in the task manager and see the memory use keep getting bigger and it has gone over 400k if I let it run long enough. Then everything runs so slow.

None of my virus scanners are catching it if it is a virus/worm, everything is up to date and so is windows xp. What ever it is it is only started when the computer is first started or restarted. After hours of debugging I got it to stop. Only if I disable MCAFEE fire wall so it does not load at startup, when it is loaded at startup so is what ever is causing the problem. After the computer is started I can load the fire wall and everything is ok.

I just wanted to let everyone know this.

Meateater,

I have just downloaded version 2.5

I understand that the problem with your computer
must be frustrating. The problems that I had with
my "new" (the one I cancelled the buy on) computer
were disturbing.

Once we have the French and Polish OOB:s ready
it should be possible to run a "mini-scenario test,"
3 Civ:s and the new OOB:s.

Meateater,

Comments on the Tank Regiments: These consisted of
2 Tank Battalions. Thus when the war started the regiments
were splitted and a number of Infantry Divisions got
1 Tank Battalion each. Maybe those Regiments should
be represented with a Light Tank unit at conscript level.
Otherwise the result will be an impressing French Tank
force that in terms of operational units did not exist.
(Since most of the French tanks were scattered.)

Meateater,

French Navy September 1 1939: (Battleships and Battlecruisers
have already been added to the scenario, so I will not
mention them here.

7xCA
12xCL
71xDD
76xSS

The French Airforce September 1 1939

50xAm. 143 (Bomber)
50xD.501 (Fighter)
50xD.510 (Fighter)
50xFar.222 (Bomber)
50xLte.298 (Torpedo Bomber)
50xLeo.257 (Torpedo Bomber)
100xMB.131 (Bomber)
100xMB.200 (Bomber)
100xMB.210 (Bomber)
150xN.622 (Fighter)
100xPo542 (Bomber)
100xH75A-1 Fighter)
50xPo.631 (Fighter)
250xMS.406 (Fighter)

The whole French OOB is now complete (with the exception
of a few colonial units).
Some days from now I can deliver a complete and
very accurate OOB for Poland.
It should then be possible to create a "mini-scenario"
with new OOB:s for Germany, France and Poland.

Best Regards

Rocoteh

OK I will get the rest of the French units you listed in for the next update. And you say that will complete the French army and
air arm of their military?

I would like to find location and fleet groupings for the French navy if possible( + names of all ships ), so that is something I would like to try and find before putting the French navy units on the map. I have a good site for this but it may take some time since you need to look at one ship at a time.

Just let me know if any of the units need to be moved.

"OK I will get the rest of the French units you listed in for the next update. And you say that will complete the French army and
air arm of their military?" Meateater

Yes, with the exception for some colonial units,
such as those in Indochina.

If you want info on those units, before starting
with Poland, it will take some time though since its
not easy to find info on colonial units.

Rocoteh

This is an impressive scenario by looking at the editor meateater. Im going to play this and see if it is as good as it looks in the editor. All accuracies seemed to have been made.

Meateater,

Do you think we can have a "mini-scenario", with
the new OOB:s working Mid-January?

Best Regards

Rocoteh

Thanks for the comments Lynx hope you like the scenario, but it still needs a lot of work.

Rocoteh not sure what you are talking about with the mini-scenario. Could you explane some more, because I am open to idea's.( if its about running the test we talked about I am all for it) You have done a great job on the French units, so if you are having trouble finding those last ones in Indochina its ok, I know that they didn't put up a fight vs Japan.

I am planning on one other starting date for this scenario, maybe around the start of the year in 1942. Then everyone can be locked into war.

Meateater,

Clarification: I mean when I deliver the Poland OOB,
there could be a playtest scenario with only 3 Civs:
Germany, France and Poland.
That is to see how the new OOB:s works.

Question: "other starting date" Does it mean you are
giving up the 1939 start or do you mean 2 start dates.

In both cases I do not think its a good idea.

Can we take that discussion with PM:s?

I have sad experience when such discussions in the
forums ends up in misunderstandments and conflicts.

Best Regards

Rocoteh
