"Beta" Massive WW2 scenario

Meateater,

I have just downloaded version 4.1, and it looks
very good.

Interesting aircraft stats.

I will continue tomorrow to report on The Royal Navys
Destroyers.

Best Regards

Rocoteh

Thanks I will see if I can find some better stats on the aircraft as to how many of each were avalible at the start of the war. From the total of 1,752 aircraft it would be eaqual to 35 in game units. The main fighter for the RAF will be the Hurricane and should be about 10 in game units. The RAA main fighter would be the Gladiator and the Swordfish as its bombes. Let me know how that sounds.

I agree that the battleship had seen it better days and the war brought about the use of aircraft carriers. So yes it was the carriers that were the new main sea vessle to conduct sea combat. First demostrated by the Japanies on the attack at Pearl Harbor.

Not so.
First demonstrated by the British.
When British carriers carried out a NIGHT attack on the Italian fleet at Taranto, in 1940.

I believe about 20 aircraft put four Battleships out of action for the rest of the war.
The aircraft took off, landed and attacked all in darkness. Flying at extreem range with extra fuel tanks. No radar or moderm navigation aids.

It certainly impressed the Japs.

Meateater,

It seems to be OK.
Number of units have marginal impact on waiting
time between turns, but there is of course an x-number
of units that people want to deal with.

Thanks for the post Esca I agree with you, feel free to post more of your comments.

Rocoteh I added in the destroyers you listed and will post an update in a day or so. I want to try and get the RAF and the RAA added with that update too. I am close to getting the airforces done.

I listed the Fairey Battle did not replace the Sworfish. The Fairey Battle was a light 3-seat bomber, and I was thinking of some other plane. Just wanted to correct myself.

How does this look for the carrier placement.

United Kingdom

Furious (1915) (33) west indies
Glorious (1915) (45) east indies
Courageous (1915) (45) south western approches
Ark Royal (1935) (65) home
Victorious (1937) (45) pacific
Formidable (1937) (45) home
Illustrious (1937) (45) home

Meateater,

I think the carrier placement looks very good
and accurate.

I will continue to report on The Royal Navy Destroyers.
So far 94 ships have been reported . The total number (184)
will be corrected down since it includes both the Canadian
and the Australian naval forces. New Zealand units though
have been reported as they were a part of The Royal Navy 1939.

Looks good I will try and get an update up today sometime with the rest of the DD's you listed and I added the Airforces too.

Edit: I uploaded 4.3 with the Airforces and the rest of the DD's listed. Let me know if the airforces need to be moved around at all. I will start looking in to the British submarines next.

Meateater,

I will download 4.3 and check it out.

I have soon reported all the destroyers.
After that I can report the submarines also
(although I do not know their postions at the outbreak of war).

Nice work, I will add the submarines in the next update. I was looking into the British infanrty divisions and it said all they had at the start of the war was nine infantry divisions, with the other forces in the colonies too.

We have been moving rather quickly and after we complete the British forces we will have completed five of the seven super powers with only Russia and Japan to do.

Thanks again Rocoteh

Meateater,

According to my sources the British Army in September
1939 had 2xArmored Divisions + 4 xInfantry Divisions
in Great Britain. 5xInfantry Divisions were in the colonys.

Yes, when the British have been completed there are
only 2 superpowers to do.

Japan should not be to hard. Russia though will not be
easy, since most sources refers to June 22 1941.
However I think we shall be able to find an accurate
OOB for September 1939 also.

Edit: Meateater, please check PM for an important message.

Best Regards

Rocoteh

Sounds good, thanks Rocoteh. Got the PM I say yes just incase you didn't get the reply. I will get an update up in a day or so with the British submarines placed. Maybe over the weekend the rest of the British forces can be placed also.

Rocoteh
I will see if I can get an update up soon with the rest of the British navy. Good stuff on the destroyers and submarines.

Drivebymaster
I can't recall what I said about the flak gun but it is an
anti-aircraft unit (AA) and shoots at aircraft. I made the German 88 both a flak unit and an artillary unit. Hope that helps and say hi to my mom for me too.

Edit: Uploaded 4.4 with the rest of the Royal Navy.

Meateater,

I will download 4.4.

With regard to remaining CIVS I think Soviet will
be the most time-consuming in research time.
