Better BAT AI

Can you post the code that you added. Maybe you left out something. I'll try to get a look at it by the weekend.

Sure thing. I have been reading a lot of the tutorials, which have my head spinning :crazyeye: I may have missed something. I did get the traits list back but haven't got my new trait in the list yet. I deleted the conceptinfo I added.

<NewConceptInfo>
<Type>CONCEPT_TRAIT_AGRICULTURAL</Type>
<Description>AGRICULTURAL</Description>
<Civilopedia>TXT_KEY_TRAIT_AGRICULTURAL_PEDIA</Civilopedia>
</NewConceptInfo>

I copied the traitsinfos.xml from warlords to Bat in the civilizations folder and added these lines

Spoiler :

My pedia in the traits pedia text.xml is I'm a farmer :P. Not sure what I'm missing for my trait to be added to the ceveopedia traits list:confused:

Sorry lemon I just found out traits are part of the .dll and I haven't changed that so that is my problem

Hey guys, I've been using BUG mod for ages and I love it. Ive been eyeing this BAT mod for some time and I'm wondering. What's the difference between BAT mod and Better BAT AI mod?

Thanks.

The difference between the two mods is that Better BAT AI is basically BAT with the Better AI mod added to it. That means you have a smarter, more ruthless AI to deal with. I knows how to handle wars and naval invasions better, and diplo is a little tougher.

BAT itself is simply the BUG and BULL mods with nice graphical enhancements. Each civ has its own building and unit art style, and the terrain graphics are enhanced. It also includes female missionaries and corporate executives, and National Wonder and Shrine movies which are missing from BTS, among other things.

There are some other differences, too. Because Better BAT AI is a separate mod from BAT, I'm not constrained to follow the BUG Mod's "Unaltered Gameplay" rules like I am with BAT. That means there are a few tweaks and gameplay changes that can't be included with BAT, such as the Lead From Behind mod, and Advanced Diplomacy 2 (coming in the next version of Better BAT AI - due out soon!)

In any case, I'm glad you're enjoying BUG! I think you'll like both BAT and BBATAI. :)

How much harder does this make the game? I find Noble too easy and Prince a proper challenge - would I need to drop down to Noble again?

I find it helpful for the first couple of games to drop down a level, just to get used to the new AI. It's a bit more aggressive than standard BTS, and seems to be more so the higher you go in levels.

But that's just me. I usually play at Monarch, but with BBATAI, I play at Prince.

Is it only the unofficial patch that is changing the cvgamecoredll or is there others as well? Sorry if its been asked before I just haven't been able to find an answer

BetterAI changes the CvGamecore.DLL, too. As well, the BULL components change it quite a lot. It's not just the UP. Almost every file is affected in some way.

Luckily, it's almost all fully commented.

Thanks. I've d'loaded BAT 4.1 and its worked....kinda. On the menu screen background it says its BAT, but I can't find an option to load it in any of the load scenarios etc. When I start a new game, it looks just the same but with the Blue Marble graphics. Are there detailed installation instructions anywhere?

I never got around to writing instructions because it's pretty simple. You just load the mod and go...

When you start a new game with BAT loaded (you either have to load it from the command line by setting the Mod tag in the .ini file to "Mod = BAT 4.1", or load it from the "Load Mod" option on Civ's main menu), you should see the BAT splash screen (big bat), and then a splash screen after the Dawn of Man screen. The splash screen will show "The BAT Mod 4.1 [Build 36-27-36]" and some copyright notices. That's how you know BAT is working.

You won't really notice a difference until you start playing and meeting other civs. You'll notice that their art work is different, and their units look different.

I'm not seeing Platy's world builder. I get the splash screen at the beginning, and I see the ethnic cities and units so I know it's working, but same old world builder. I was really hoping for this to, because it has all the best features of RI without any gameplay changes. But since there is no Platy's world builder I have to wonder what else may be missing. Up thread I read some where that you could activate the "Events with Images mod" in the bug options screen but theres nothing there, so I have to assume that's out too? I tried installing both ways but still no luck.

What version of BBATAI are you running? My version of 2.1 has Events with Images in it.

I also know Lemon used an older version of Platy WB in BBATAI. She couldnt make the new version work properly with BUG. I know she was working on it

Can someone kindly upload the version 2.1?

I seem to get a file integrity error everytime I download it, even though 2.0 download seems to be working fine for me.

thats weird. I don't have a problem with 2.1 and I just redownloaded it and installed it. Did you try anothe mirror?

No one cane upload 2.1 again right now. Lemon's in the hospital and probably will be til Xmas time. I dont have access to her files so i cant upload them for her.

I tried 2 different mirrors and it produced the same result. I think every browsers I'm using kept marking it as malicious is the reason why the file integrity is terrible.

Withdrawn. A mirror was able to finally give me a non-malicious download.

Now if only I could get that setting where the movement speed and strength of your unit were in decimal places.
For some reason Fractional movement points doesn't work and the movement speed and strength rounded up to the tens place...

On my City Display Screen all the builds are listed on the left like they should be. Next to each build there is a plus sign (which cannot be clicked) instead of the summary of the benefits generated by the building. I cannot find any option to turn this display on/off in the options section. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
Jack

Is this standard BUG, or are you talking about the BAT Mod?
