Here is a tip to achieve the best possible score just before finishing a game:
One turn before end, set the luxuries tax rate at 100% so that nearly all of your citizens are happy. You get 2 points for each happy citizen instead of 1 for a content. Unhappy citizens brings you no point at all.
Use your remaining money to rush build wonders, just in time to get the bonus point for the achievement.

If you rush build on your last turn then you won't get the wonder because your SS lands between turns and so you don't get to see the next (2021). So rush-build things on the second last turn and you can have the points. Although don't build the Manhattan unless you have SDIs in all cities the AI might take a fancy to.;)

A better idea is to set the luxuries high several turns before the end so that you can benefit from any possible WLTP days and boost your population score. :D

Sure, you're right. You have to take these measures several turns before game end.
It is a pity that you don't get any points for your money! If you have played Colonization, you know that you get 1 pt for every 1000 gold. As I had more than 190000 gold, the bonus was quite appreciable. I hope this has been improved in Civ 3.

A little question: how do you get these nice units icons on your "identity bar" ?

Look at the top of the page. You'll see "usercp".From there iti s in edit options
