I am running Vista with Directx 10 plus the Directx 9 files that this site told me to install.
I have Civ 4 patched to 1.74 and warlords patched to 2.13.
But everytime it just goes to the directx patching and says its looking for updates then the install just quits.
I don't have any copying software installed either.
Please help!

fixed it. Just uninstalled Warlords and the installatin worked fine. For those of you having installatin problems try uninstalling warlords. BTS comes with it neways.
