Beyond the Sword install problem

Hi,

I have Civ IV, just got Beyond the Sword and installed it, fired up Civ IV and... nothing changed. It was the same old Civ IV. BtS installed fully and I can see it under 'remove programs' under 'control panel' but there is nothing under 'firaxis games' under 'program files', and more importantly nothing has changed on the original Civ IV. Any ideas how I can fix this so I can play BtS? Thanks.

I'd like to know the solution to this as well, since I had a similar issue. My installation got interrupted about three-quarters of the way through the first time by stupid Vista installing updates and restarting (:nuke:). Some of the files had clearly already installed, since I got a "Play" option when I ran autoplay on the disk. However, the game stopped working before it even got to the main screen, so I assumed it had not loaded all of the files and re-installed it. Now, I'm in a similar position as fancyjesus - when I insert the BtS disk and autorun it, it works fine. But there isn't a shortcut on my desktop, and there is no program file for it in the Firaxis folder. It does appear on my uninstall programs list.

In a possibly unrelated issue, I noticed in my first game of BtS that I wasn't able to see other civ's cities with religions whose holy cities I controlled. Is this a change that was made in BtS, or is this an error with my installation?

the latter is a change made in BtS.
if it works allright - then the install finished - in vista the installer often fails to produce a shortcut - and the program files are definitely there if the game starts up - where exactly did you look?
