Beyond the Sword system requirements

I have been away for quite some time and I am sure this has been answered reqeatedly. So for this I apologize but, I am thinking of picking up Beyond the Sword. However, my computer sluggishly runs the vanilla version of Civ IV. Will it be worse with beyond the sword?

well, website says requirements are identical - but I dunno; I haven't personally seen any performance differences in my old computer, but it tends to randomly crash anyway, so that's not saying much...
