BIG list of ideas for new units

Nope, no stealth fighter in Civ4.

Also, as far as nukes go, I think it should be modded so that ICBMs are less effective when launched from a long distance.

The reason we still have gravity based nuclear bombs and other such delivery media is that when you launch a rocket from, say the southwest USA to North Korea, there's quite a bit of time for fighers, SAMs, and whatever else to shoot it down.

On the other hand, if a sub sneaks up on a country, and lobs some smaller ballistic missiles at its target, it has that advantage.

oh, you're right... it's called a jet fighter, but it has pretty much the same "stealth" capabilities as the B2 in its interception evasion

Actually if that were true, President Bush wouldn't have to call for a Missile Defense Program. There is currently no way to shoot down ICBMS IRL. Guess we're still stuck with duck and cover ... :nuke::eek::nuke:

Duck and cover from a supersonic, 6,000° K blast wave? I always thought that was sort of odd...

The missile "defense" program can actually shoot down 5 out of 8 preknown launches. Without countermeasures. And will cost 60 billion dollars...if it stays on budget. *coughpork*

This missile defense bullfeathers is the biggest waste of money.
Within a decade, the airborne laser will be active, which is able to blow up ICBMs from far away and it will be much cheaper to launch and operate than some silly intercept missiles.

On the other hand, the fact is, a nuclear-tipped SAM could also do a fine job of destroying an ICBM, and frankly, I think we should work on THAT before anything else.

Yeah it is odd, but back then people apparently enjoyed watching "Leave it to Beaver" and "How Much Is That Doggy In The Window?" was a #1 hit, so it was a wierd time. Apparently everyone wore funny hats, all movies sucked(even the ones with President Reagan and monkeys), there was no porn or Superbowls, and some dude named Adlai was almost president twice. The 50s were truly a dark age for the American Civilization.
Yeah, missile defense won't be cheap, but its not nearly as expensive as invading other countries with nukes, or at least we think have nukes, or had nukes, or act like they have nukes, or are ruled by crazy people who want nukes and are dumb enough to think W is bluffing, or whatever. And rebuilding the country after we get hit by some nukes would be the most expensive option of all. That makes missile defense the least bad option in my book.

More units:

Stealth Ship (Sea Shadow): Can spot submarines, also has the stealth properties of a submarine, but isn't spotted by ships with can spot subs. Has high bonus against subs.

City Improvement:

Super Cannon: The name sounds like some stupid anime thing, but in reality this was being developed in Iraq. It's a huge cannon barrel mounted underground which has a range of a thousand miles.

With this, a city could bombard other cities or pillage improvements within several squares of it. This would be useful for border cities in contested areas.

What I would like to as capability for the Stealth Bomber, is when you bomb a city you can choose which building/unit you would like to bomb and this building/unit has then a x% to be destroyed.
