Bink video issues.

OK, my problems are purely cosmetic.

The Bink videos run choppy. That's it. They run, but there is a "stutter" in the sound every second or so and the video sometimes appears to pause for a split second. The game itself runs fine.

This wouldn't be so annoying if my system wasn't such comparative beast to begin with. (I run Half Life 2 without any issues at all.)

Same here. I'm not sure about my system being a beast, but it it is within specs reccomended specs on most things.

the game looks and runs great on everythnig but the videos . . .which sucks because they werre one of my favorite parts of the earlier Civs and I like to be rewarded with them after I do something right.

Please help. I'd search the forums but . . .

their web site is ridiculously slow for me . . I have cable, maybe I'm spoiled.

I have this problem to. Patch 1.09 fix it, but the new patch seems to have brought it back. I like to run Task manager in the Background, so I can Alt-tab out to see how much memory its using, and the processor usage. I started running in a window, because I noticed it uses less memory this way. I noticed that when it starts and it gets to the initiate engine step, it's usually using 100% processor. I think this might be the problem.

1.7 gig Pentium 4
1 gig pc2700 ram
geforce 6200 OC 256 mb of Ram
