Upgrading to Windows 10 instantly rendered most of my PC collection worthless, since they won't run for one reason or another. I've been thinking about trying the Bioshock series, but wanted to find out first if anyone has run either of the first two games on a Windows 10 machine.

More pressingly: I was hoping to buy the game used just in case it didn't work. It's associated with steam, so do used copies work? All of the amazon reviews say that Half-Life 2 used games are useless because the license was already applied...

I know the first one and infinite work. Im running windows 10. Biggest problem i have had with windows 10 is it not recognising my new graphics card.

Why can't you just get it on steam? It'll work for sure and it's on sale often for like $5.

I live in a semi-rural area with DSL service that's fast enough to stream youtube videos without hiccoughs, but would probably take days and days to download something as large as a game. It would be interrupted and fail before it finished, I'm sure. I'm tempted to try it for Half-life 2 because CD versions of that game are still being offered for $40-$60. O_O

I've decided to take a gamble and see. I purchased a used copy in Like New condition this morning.

Bioshock 1 doesn't require Steam unless you buy it digitally from or for Steam. I believe that Bioshock Infinite is tied to Steam though, but it's also not a very good game either

Also downloads on Steam can be paused, so if you lose connection it will just pick up where it left off, but neither of them are small games. Half-Life 2's download is 6.5 GBs too but you'll just want to pick it up on a Steam sale TBH, it will be super cheap.
