Black/blank map on game replay screen

I have a bug where, if I play a mod (like RevDCM or some of the built-in mods with BTS), then the replay at the end of the game (usually a bit I really like) doesn't show the proper world map, it just shows a black background. The cultural borders and event dots and things are still shown, but just overlaid on the black. I'd just assumed this was something to do with my laptop, which was a bit below spec anyway, but I've recently got a new laptop and see exactly the same thing on that.

I don't have any problem seeing the map on the military advisor or at any other point, just on the replay screen. Does anyone know a fix for this? Or, for that matter, has anyone else ever even experience this, as I can't find a mention of it?

I've not seen this, although there's something similar with mods and BUG where the interface is missing and blank screens etc... so if you have any custom assets it might be worth disabling them for the mod (go into the mod ini file and change the "nocustomassets" entry to 1 if memory serves me). Otherwise I guess some files are missing and a reinstall would solve it.

Only thing I can think of offhand is that you may be running another mod or have BUG installed in custom assets while trying to run delivered BTS scenarios. You can't run other mods with those scenarios. Not sure about RevDCM, but I would think it would conflict with BUG in custom assets as well, even though it uses BUG, since it runs stand-alone.

I would try deleting your custom assets folder. Delete the folder entirely and a new fresh one will generate. If you do use BUG/BULL in custom assets, you can reinstall and save a copy of the custom assets folder, but generate a fresh vanilla CA folder for use with other mods and switch between them.

Also, make sure you have patch 3.19 installed for BTS.

I don't play with any other mods anyway so I'm assuming I won't have anything in the custom assets folder. I'll try disabling it anywayy though and see what happens.

The new laptop has a fresh install anyway, all I did was copy across the replay files from my old laptop and then load the mod to see if it would work. It's patched to 3.19 as well.

For the record the two mods I've seen this with are RevDCM and the Next War full game mod, but those are the only two that I've played through to the end of a game so it might happen with all mods as far as I know.

Was the old laptop patched too? They might not work correctly if the old one was a much ealier patch.
Have a look at the other mods, they nearly all behave the same regarding the BUG issue, so if your mods do too that might help to find the problem.

Yes both were/are patched to 3.19. I'm not sure what you mean by have a look at the other mods though, which other mods? I don't use BUG at all. I know RevDCM had BUG included, but Next War doesn't have that included.

I tried changing the nocustomassets to 1 in the mod ini file, but that didn't help. Maybe it's just some strange graphics card/chipset problem? No idea why the base game works fine though.

I meant some of the other built in mods. Graphics cards often cause problems in the main game, so doubt it would affect just the replay screen...
