Blank Screen Problem

I just installed this game on a new computer.

Summary: when the cinemas begin when I start up the game (2kgames, intro CivIV movie) all I can see is a blank bluish screen, but I can hear the sounds.

And when I get to the globe screen, with the big CivIV logo at the top, all the things you are supposed to be able to click on (Single Player, Multiplayer, etc.) have vanished!

However, I can click on them. (I clicked on where "Exit Game" should have been and it exited the game.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.... virtual hugs.

I had a similar problem when I first installed Civ. What graphics card are you using? Try upgrading the driver. This should solve your problem.

I know it could not possibly be either of those; the driver is more advanced than the last computer I used.
