it was that by razing all of the cities you couldn't take, you created room for the other AI's too fill in and become very powerful.

right, that's what i meant with discussing warring. We should have tried more to keep Alex and Genghis alive. But i spoke also in genera about playing sg

Thanks to blid for the fun game you hosted and for giving me an opportunity to learn more about warfare. I'd love the chance to give it another go, sometime. Maybe if we're permitted to keep captured non-coastal cities?

I wouldn't soften the variant, contrary, closing the ring is a must, that made it appealing to me.

I too think that allowing the capture of cities would kill the variant theme. Expanding by capture is the standard way of wrmongerer style

Ha, that final report by blid was hilarious. First SG loss but it was fun. I was especially proud of the way we demolished Asoka (who had artillery and marines) with cannons.
