Honestly I am not sure this would translate to deity, too many things can go wrong. But I think there is a good deity level thread around here somewhere for peaceful culture.

Paths to SV and CV before turn 200 are more or less the same. The only difference is several wonders. So I am very interested at what turn one could achieve SV on this map with same build and RAs.

You mentioned from the ruins u got a population. And u put "badly timed" can u tell me what u mean by that? Is there times in which u Do not want to increase in pop?

Sorry if this noob but I'm trying to play on higher levels but it seems I'm missing knowledge on certain understandings of the mechanics.

I just meant that it came when my city was about to grow anyway, therefore it wasn't as nice of a boost as it could have been. Ideally, you would hit the extra pop ruin right after your city grew already.

Hi Chazzycat! Great write up you got here. I am new to civ 5 and haven't got my first CV yet, gonna try this later. Few questions though:

1. With the nerf to PtP, would you still rush consulates?
2. Since DV is harder to achieve now, you may not need to avoid them anymore. Would this make you encourage RA?

Hi, and thanks! I haven't played with this strategy since the patch, I've mainly been having fun with Germany and Japan. And GTA distracted me from civ for a while. But, I think the answers to your questions are 1) no and 2) yes. I will have to play a bit more to get a sense for all the patch changes though.

The patch makes this much easier. Diplomacy makes such a huge difference with OB and trade routes. (immortal CV is pretty easy) so I think if you pull it of before the patch, the new patch will make it easier
