BNW Map Scripts broken? No city spots any more...

Even on huge maps I rarely find more than two or three spots in my starting area with a new luxury resource. I have yet to play a game where I can settle more than four cities, and this is on huge maps... Something is weird here, it was not like this in G&Ks.

Also, standard sized maps feels like small now, and large feels like standard. Did they change the map scripts when it comes to how much land they generate?
I know the solution to smaller land is to use Sea Level = Low, but that doesn't change the fact that there are much less variety in luxury resources, so this setting usually just results in empty space. The Resources = Plenty setting just results in epic amounts of cows and stone, no extra variety in luxuries.

Ive had only one game so far on huge maps where I have seen more than four unique luxuries in my area. Most of the maps are just empty space.

Had some 10-15 Games on BNW now, all on standard continents; the maps seemed perfectly normal, 2-3 Lux on starting point and some more-or-less-nice settling points around.
Can´t really complain about missing city spots.

edit: if you feel this way you can always set luxurys to high or legendary start on game-setup ;)

I've been having the same issues. I just started a game as Poland and I was getting ready to settle and all I saw around me was stone and plains. It's really hard to get 4 solid cities up and running I feel.

Another 15 restarts now and only 3-4 city spots in each and every one of them. I use the Very Advanced Setup mod now to see the area around me from start. Abundant Resources setting in all 15. Doesn't help.

Wth...

Abundant resource does not make more resource on the map. It makes each strategic resource give a higher yield.

Except for Legendary Start that's supposed to give your cap something extra (Not sure what, since I've had better caps on sparse), I think it's in the map script how much luxury/strategic stuff is generated.

Not really feeling that problem
I've had lots of great starts and lovely maps, both for 4 cities and for large liberty starts with shoshone.

The maps have been discouraging me from playing. I get tend to get isolated starts and very little room to expand/areas viable for expansion when I'm not. I thought it was maybe civilization biased, but it seems to be the same case with a variety of civilizations.

I also noticed that continetns is kinda screwey right now. Correct me if i'm wrong, but to my understanding, continents is supposed to give you 2 maybe 3 large continents and stick civs onto them. For me, it gave me like 5, with me being on one with 3 different people and everyone else having their own. Weird right?

Sorry, that's false.
