I have bombers (Hurray!), but I am still not able to kills units that I bomb. I can damage them but that is it. Why can't I kill the units?

i'm pretty sure bombers DO have lethal bombardment, but maybe the units you're trying to kill have more HP than the bombers' ROF. check the rate of fire of the bomber unit in the civlopedia - if it's 3 (i think), then it can only do a maximum of 3 HPs of damage per attack, and therefore would be incapable of killing a veteran unit single-handedly. two bombers definitely should though. good luck!

i hadn't thought about that; sorry. that's quite possible (thanks Duke Togo). i am definitely playing conquests. yaksack, try checking the civlopedia if you aren't sure - it'll tell you if a unit has lethal land or sea bombardment.

Civ3 and PTW do not give bombers lethal bombardment, although the editor lets you (I give bombers and artillery pieces from cannon on up the ability to sink ships but not finish off land units). I don't have Conquests yet but I think they gave lethal sea bombard to bombers and lethal land and sea bombard to stealth bombers.

Bombers have lethal land bombardment in C3C but not the earlier games. It takes more than one bomber to kill a unit. Creating a Khe Sanh style kill zone where you weaken attacking units with artillery and finish them off with bombers is great for inflicting heavy casualties without taking any losses.

Bombers do NOT have lethal land bombardment in the WWII in the Pacific Conquest.
