I gambled on moving my settler to the PH. Finding the gems was nice, but having only one deer in range wasn't.

Early on, I was given the "War Chariot" quest, although I didn't even have A.H. yet. I decided to work for that quest after I got horses, delaying my research of I.W. until that quest was completed. That delay allowed Cyrus to settle on the northern iron, as my settler was on the way. I decided to attack him in 450 BC. The offending city was razed and my own settler claimed that resource, but I soon realized my economy (with only 30 gold left, I was at -8 gpt at 0% science) was going to crash before I could push any further. I made peace in 325 BC and started a desperate effort to scrape up every gold piece I could find from my 7 cities.

Wouldn't let all that food go so SIP here. Also struggled with commerce. Settled along the river so when sailing was in (bee lining alpha), things got better. Seems eastern part of map are heading into a religion lovefiest. So joining that. Random personalities is fun, seems to be a bunch of warmongers.

I had never played Boreal before, so I rolled a few maps to get a rough feeling for how they look.
With that in mind I didn't dare move the settler away from the 3deer capital, so I did choose to settle in place.

I quickly noticed that there was very much land available, and since the land didn't really allow for big cities, we are imperialisic and there is soo much chops available my plan was to go on a REX rampage.
I built SH between second and third city. I like this choice, since it saved quite abit of time and chops for monuments for new cities.
Got a GProphet which I settled.

Teched Hunting->Mining->BW, no copper made me opt for archery since there seemed to be a truckload of land.
Agri->Pottery->Writing->Math (for chops!!) then I did go for currency, since I was running out of things to build and I started to get quite a few cities, so the extra traderoutes would be beneficial.

Only then did I go AH for the stray sheep. Seeing horses in the capital then was nice. I think it was too late for a horse-archer rush, but I don't know, the AIs where teching absurdly slow. (I think they do that on boreal?)

I have gotten a GScientists which I'm saving for a machinery bulb.
The plan is to get a bunch of cataphracts and take over the world!!
They lack immunity to first strike, so I guess flank1+2 is the way to go, at least after longbows start to appear?

Empire overview at 1AD:

Two nice spots in the north, green land for a possible Burcap, and two of the happy resources in another. :)
I really enjoy the game, quite a different pace compared to "normal" maps.
Have gotten no gamechanging events and starting to get the feeling that events aren't as bad as I thought.
