BOTM save won't load under Vista

So I'm trying to play my first BOTM, but when I try to load the save it gives me a message saying:
"The save file you have selected in protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed."

And crashes.

I've searched and seen some other people with this problem but even after uninstalling Civ IV and BTS and reinstalling I still have the same problem

I even installed Civ IV 1.74 and BTS 3.17 before 3.19 and then BUFFY. AssetChecker came up saying HOF-1.74.004 was missing so I installed that too just to see and it didn't work either but I suppose that's completely unrelated.

I'm using Vista and tried all of the Vista fixes for the HOF mod but they haven't worked. Didn't try creating another admin account though... maybe I should but does anyone have any ideas in the meantime?

Your best bet is to ask in the GOTM forum as you'll get more people who use these mods there and they will have a better idea than those of us who don't use these mods. I do believe you need the HOF mod to play the GOTMs though, so it wouldn't have worked without it.

Alright cool, thought to put it in GOTM at first but figured here might be more appropriate. I'll go there anyway and see what happens.
