I've spent the last few weeks tweaking this mod and I hope you guys like it. I'm a bit of an Anglophile and so I decided to make a modpack as British as possible. I've only included the units.gif, rules and an explanation of why I chose each graphic.

Just imagine British Empire Red before you take a look at it.

Please tell me what you think.

I wish others would say the same, sofar it has been all quiet on the Western Front.

I think you should change the units called Heavy Bomber and Fighter (the both Stealth places) to the Avro Lancatser and the Spitfire Mk. I or Mk. V. The biplane could be changed to Sopwith Pub or something. It makes the modpack just a bit more English, you know.

I was seriously debating that one. But I never found a suitable image. The ones I did find were too cartoonish, too much of a single color and didn't show much depth. True, the same could be said about the ones I did pick though.

As for the WW1 aircraft, I chose those because they were simple and sweet, and didnt have the garish colors and styles of some of the other WW1 aircraft I found in various other modpacks. I wanted all the units to go with each other as much as possible, not be a giant patchwork of units like some modpacks I have seen. If I can say one good thing about the old Civ units, atleast they had continuity and were drawn in the same style.

I don't think you have a Mk. I kobayashi; the colours are wrong. I say you have the Mk. V.

Wyrmshadow, have you seen Captain Nemo's Mark IV? He posted it on the Apolyton boards last year, and I've attached it and a collection of modern British units to this post

Thanks for the MkIV Case, no, I had not seen it before. Let me see if I can identify all those other units:

Looks like Centurions on the top row.
Avro Vulcan, Chieftan(its smoke dischargers are very characteristic) and HMS Illustrious class
Eurofighter Typhoon, AV8B Harrier and the Tornado.

I'm going to think long and hard about these units, because the more I look at them the better they would fit into my modpack.

Just a quick question, why all the sudden interest? This post was sitting idle for a while.

I almost forgot, I'm sorta iffy about even having a MkIV in the 1st place because the unit I've made it into is little better than the calvary and I still havent been able to make it upgradable to a modern tank through tweeking with Leonardo's Workshop. Infact I ran into that problem when my carriers were turning into SSN's.

ZWK? I'm sorry but I'm completely clueless, you'll have to fill me in on that.

Wyrmshadow, you got them all right

If you're after ww2 era units, I'd strongly recomend those made by Captain Nemo for his scenarios. Have you seen the compilations of these units?

I've incuded a collection of WW1 era units made by Alex Mor and a collection of sailing ships put together by Bebro.

Shameless plug: My new scenario 'The Cruel Sea' features a lot of WW2 era naval units made by Captain Nemo and modified by The Anzac and myself

You never heard of ZWK? It's kobayashi's scenario of WWII: Zweiter Weltkrieg (=German).

I saw the ZWK and didnt like it. I'm trying to go for the same look in all my units, not cut and paste photographs.

and Case, what IS that Russian bomber? Were you trying to make the Ilya Muromets? (I think that's how you spell it.) Anyway, if it was that's not how it looks like. The Ilya Murromets looked like a 4 engined flying subway car.

I need help and I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem:

My barbarian leader is a stealth bomber for some reason and he keeps making havoc on my ancient empires, how do I fix this. You can see my Rules.txt for yourself at the top of the page.

As I said in my post, I didn't make it - Alex Mor did. I know nothing about Russian aircraft of WW1.

BTW, here are a couple of collections of 18th & 19th century English units by various artists, and a collection of British Army and airforce units of WW2 made by Captain Nemo and Jimmywax

The barbarian leader is closely linked to the far down left unit slot of "units.gif" -so if that is occupied by your stealth bomber, you probably wanna place this somewhere else!

(On a second thought, the barb leader can't wreak any havoc, unless you also changed the diplomat slot, because he uses the image of the barb slot, but the characteristics of your diplomat slot! -so you probably have changed this as well!)

-I STRONGLY recommend you reading that excellent document by Leon Marrick in the reference section, "Advanced Scenario Design" -and I can't say this too many times.

-That'll explain everything. It is very detailed and very much like a manual for scenario designers. If you get a problem in the course of making a scenario, in 9 out of 10 cases you'll find the info there. I learned tremendously from that piece of wisdom, and it spared me of just so many headaches. -You'll no doubt bump into some anyway, but there's no reason to go and make the same mistakes as these pioneers who has gone before us (Marrick and Harlan Thompson, for instance), when you can stand on their shoulders laughing instead.-

Here is how the units are shaping up. I swear, I have been modifying this atleast twice a day for the past 4 weeks, just this one file.

I've download close to 200 modpacks and searched through all of them for units that would look nice when put together, especially the sea units.
