I've started experiencing fairly frequent, very nasty crashes, Blue Screen of Death with report of error in the video driver. This did not ever happen with prior iterations of Civ4 and now happens frequently once the game map gets exposed and there are a large number of units and cities on it. Most commonly, the error will be triggered by a simple scroll of the map (mouse cursor moved to edge). Does not occur with a map that is mostly hidden or with a small number of graphics resource demands (units, cities, etc).

After the crash, power cycle and reboot the game can be reloaded and will run normally for awhile--through the same point it crashed before. But it's essentially a matter of time before it will do so again.

OS is WinXP Pro fully updated.
Game is patched with official 3.13 and unofficial 3.13.
Video drivers were removed, reinstalled; then updated with latest from NVidea site.
DirectX is current, tho' I reinstalled just in case.
Cannot recreate the error but it's frequent.
DxDiag reports the DxDraw working fine, etc.
No other symptoms in other software seen.

Attached will be DxDiag output. Windows XP MiniMem dump available if desired.

I'm not very adept with these magics, so it's good to see someone look into it. I do, however, suspect that this stems from some sort of programming issue that can only be resolved with a new official patch. I just got another fresh GB of RAM (I now have 2GB), but I don't think that will help me with BtS since this (game-breaking) problem seems related to video memory.
