[BtS] Merged Mod

I got these errors right away when i first started??
Pink squares. I've read about them in installation instructions. Did you install Wolfschanze mod?

More to bug reports.
It seems that +10 Intercept promotion doesn't work for me. It shows as promotion icon on unit. But unit description doesn't has this additional +10. For example, Moile SAM has 50% interception chance. After promoting it it still has 50%.

Another strange thing - I can't upgrade unit, when unique unit from captured city can be built (Assimilation mod turned on). Example: I've captured french cities. They have Musketeer instead of Musketman. I couldn't promote Longbowman stationed on ex-French land to neither Musketman nor Musketeer. When I moved Longbowman to my native city, I was able to promote it to Musketman.

@strategyonly: Yes, pink squares or red blobs means missing art. Please re-check the first post, and check that' you've done precisely as I've written. Also, this mod DOES allow you to load CustomAssets. So, if you have any python files in the CustomAssets folders, this might mess up some things. I haven't seen that error that you've reported for some time - it should have been fixed...

@DC0: I'll look into the air-promo. I'll check the assimilation bug also. Can you please post a savegame?

Nope no files in the Custom Assets folder, i delete them every two days just incase.

Rats. I have a newer version of inquisition.py from OrionVeteran. I don't know how I could have forgotten to replace that file. 0.94 will be posted soon (but maybe not tonight). If you feel like trying, you can try and replace the Inquisition.py file with the one I've attached to this post.

I've just tested this in worldbuilder. It seems that the bonus does work, however, it's not displaying properly. If you move the mouse to the units' location on the map, that hover text will show the correct stat (60% for the mobile sam). However, if you hover the mouse over the unit icons at the bottom of the screen, the promotion icon shows in the hover text, but the bonus (the +10%) does not, only the base intercept chance (50%). I just checked for air units as well, it's the same issue. A Stealth fighter does show up to 130% interception, with Intercept I, II and III, when you hover over the unit, but only 100% (and promo icons) when hovering over the icons at the bottom.

I am going to get in touch with some interface gurus from BUG to ask about this. It's a SDK change, but I consider this a minor issue. I'm 99,9% sure that the combat mechanism for interceptions is not affected by this; it's a display issue only.

Will .94 have the reduced poly models that Wolfrev has?

Not 0.94, or you'll be waiting for a loong time. I may not do it at all, it's a ton of work, which I will be pretty pressed to find time for.

Thank you for checking. That is a minor issue then.
I've attached savegame about unit upgrades. Actually, this is not a problem at all to move unit to other city for upgrade. I was more worried about interception promotion :)

Thank you for wonderful mod.

strategyonly, try reinstalling the game. I've had different problems with Civ4, even without mods installed. All of them were due to poor install. It is important to quit all programs before installation. I also quit my firewall+antivirus software, because it scans all files on the fly. And it might become a problem, because Civ4 copies MANY files during installation.

Nah, thats not it, i have installed and re-installed Civ4 completely for about six times now, this year.:mischief:

Please check if you have wolfshanze.fpk inside the Merged Mod assets folder. It must be the .fpk file, not a zip file. The file is 630 MB, you can't miss it. :D

First of all want to say great mod I enjoy it. I have encountered a crash in the modern era I can't get past, I'll post the save game and maybe you can give it look.

save game

Yes, this mod is the only reason why I still play Civ 4.
Go go Ninja2! (I'm assuming you're busy updating the mod for the latest patch...)

@All: I will update this mod to 3.19, as time permits. No promises as to when this will happen. I need to have all components updated (or at least receive confirmation that the existing components are compatible) before I can do my magic and merge all of them in, so I am at the mercy of quite a few other modders. I also expect continuos development of Better AI, and I will of course install the latest version prior to release.

@Outlaw77: I will check out your savegame to see if I can do anything. What are the game parameters? I.e., mapsize, number of civs (the smaller the game, the greater the chance for me to fix it), also, what is your operating system and amount of RAM?

This mod is fantastic. Thanks to Ninja and Wolf and everyone that had a part in creating this.

In playing my games with this mod, underneath the Research Bar at the very top center of the screen where the BUG hints/info appears at the end of each turn I get 3 breif messages that say Test 1, Test 2 and then Test 3. Can anyone tell me how to eliminate these? I have attached a saved game for your use. I am guessing it is a setting within the BUG mod, but I wouldn't know which one. If anyone can steer me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Please let me know if I am not making myself clear (I have a nasty habit of doing that) and you have my thanks in advance.

The Test 1-3 are messages from the Inquisition.py file. Lines 750, 752 and 755, presumably you can put a # in front of each line, and they should be ignored. I guess they are messages that OrionVeteran (author of the Inquisition mod) put in there for testing. However, I do not see those messages... do you have
Code:
; Enable message logging
MessageLog = 1
in your CivilizationIV.ini file? If yes, try setting it to 0, and see if the messages go away.

@Ninja---it is set to zero already. I will try commenting out the lines you have stated and see if that helps. Not sure why it does it on this mod. I play others with the Inquisition Mod installed in and do not get this. Thanks for you help.

I was going to refernce this mod in my notification post that WolfRevolution has been updated, but you haven't got it 3.19 compliant yet

I haven't had the time to do it yet. RL is keeping me very busy.
