[BtS] Next War Arcology question

This is more of an aesthetic gripe, but does anyone know how to mod the Arcology through Advanced Arcology Shielding line of buildings so they don't stack inside one another? I'm getting tired of ever increasing arcology domes taking up entire BFC's of my cities, bot to mention it looks kind of silly to have three domes when all is said and done.

Interesting. I'll take a screenshot tonight when I get home. It looks like the only thing it should do is add the extra spinning "laser-light-things" on the dome. But, for me, it makes an entirely new dome with the laser lights inside the old dome, making the old dome bigger to fit the new one in.

When all is said and done, I have three domes over my city.

Any way to fix that so it's only one dome?
 
That's wierd. The only time I've seen that on my game is using worldbuilder. I'll have to look into the game files and see if I can find anything.

It's always been like this for me, even with the new patches. I'm not using worldbuilder, either.

I appreciate the help. If you need to see any of my file sections let me know and I'll post them.
 
It would probably be good if I could see CIV4BuildingInfos and CIV4ArtDefines_Building so I can compare them to mine. If I don't see anything different I would guess the problem is in the graphic itself and would replace them. (I'll upload mine). I must warn you, though, that I'm not a very good modder.
 
what're your graphic settings? Could it be related to the # of units thing? Like how you can show three units vs. one units at different graphic settings.
 
I have mine set to 3 units and the arceology works fine. It could be something else, though.
 
Thanks a bundle for all of your help! I've done some modding in my day, so I'm sure I could figure out how to put different building graphics in if you upload yours.

I don't know much about Python, either, but I think that might be the problem since I think I was missing a few python files.

Now I just wish there was an easy way to test it, since you said they get screwed up in worldbuilder. If I loaded my previous save game would they show up correctly?
 
No, I don't think that'll work. What I think happens is when one is built, the other is deleted. Not sure though. Anyways, but this folder in your customassets\Art\Structures\Buildings and see if it works. If it doesn't I don't know what the problem is.:dunno:

Thanks a bunch. I have several cities that don't have arcologies built, so I'm going to build them there to see if the python stuff was the problem. If not, I'll give your stuff a try and see if that was the cause. Can't try it until after work, though :(
 
Ok, I think the issue might be with Python, but I don't know what is wrong now. I tried testing it out, and now the Arcology Shielding does replace the Arcology graphics when I build it. However, it completely deleted the Arcology building entirely from the city.

Then, I had the option to build the Arcology and Advanced Shielding, even though the Arcology shouldn't be an option. Building either one, or both, starts putting extra domes up again.

I'm at a loss :(
 
I think that's what's supposed to happen(the first part), looking at my python. You shouldn't have the option to build Archology though.

It's supposed to disappear entirely? I don't mean just the graphics. I mean that if I go to the city screen it doesn't show up at all (where it says what buildings are present in the city). Shouldn't it still be there so the benefits stack, yet only have the single graphic on the map?
