BtS stops working

In the past week I have had six occasions when the screen went black except for a window showing a message that the game has stopped working. There has been no consistency in what was happening in the game at the time of the stoppages, so the condition is not reproducible. I run Vista.
The Problems log shows that every time the Problem Event Name was "AppHangB1" and the Application Name was "Civ4Beyond Sword.exe" with Fault Module CVGameCoreDLL.dll.

The same thing is happening to me. It will happen late in games while the turn is cycling through the AI. It hits without warning and at taht point your game cannot be played anymore even after reloading, rebooting, etc. The game just is unplayable at that point.

Very frustrating.

I also run Vista.

I'm just now updating to the latest patch (didn't have any patches installed before as I just never looked and this was just a recent issue).
