BTS vs. Vanilla/Warlords Discussion

I've got Diplo with AP in BCs at Emperor on Pangea. Whoever was beta-testing this should've done it better.

Well Id not call that a problem but it shouldn't count as religious victory but religious victory to make those two different. Maybe worth putting to HoF mod or none will go for UN anymore with BtS ruining one aspect of the game.

Is it me, or is the scoring system a bit different in BtS as compared to Van/War ? Some friends on another forum have reported higher scores with some types of victories; not sure what is causing that.

I guess that's because of the added turns at the end.

I'm going to quote the guy:

Final score 37398. It was a domination victory in 1911.

It seems the multipliers are a bit more generous in BtS. maybe Im wrong but I played a random huge map at prince level and had a final normalized score around 66000 winning by domination in 1864.

In about 50 base warlords maps, the best Ive put up is 27488.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I haven't researched this but I'll heres something and this info is from forums not from code:

Basescore is counted from partial scores (If i rememb multipliers right)
(your pop/max pop without any improvements)*4000
(your land/max land)*2000
(your techs/max techs without future techs)*2000k
(your wonders/max wonders)*1000

Where each pop point is 1, land square is 1, wonder 5pts and anc tech 1,classical 2,...,future 7

Then firaxis score= Difficulty modifier*basescore^current turn/total number of turns.

When they added more turns you can have some victory conditions earlier as you need only same amount of moving to make conquest theoretically therefore increasing score.

I don't know if they changed scoring anyway in BtS but at least it makes score vary alot as there are more turns, more techs and more wonders.

The values in the BTS xml file are the same. I suspect that any differences are as a result of the fact that the number of turns for each speed have been increased in BTS. Score for a given date is going to use a different (current turn/total number of turns) factor than previous versions.
