BTS wont install

Ok I'm losing patience, I just got BTS and am trying to install it but it says the latest patch failed to install then aborts the install. I tried downloading patch 3.19 or whatever the latest patch is and it still wont install.

I have no idea what to do now

Ok I called 2k and they said it wouldnt install because I downloaded vanilla civ from steam and i have BTS on disc, is this why?

unfortunately the digital distribution of this game is botched, and it is true that Steam (and pretty much any digital version) Civ4 will not allow installation of an expansion pack that comes from a different source - Steam is especially bad here though due to the way it installs the game, essentially bts will only install if you buy it from steam as well.

Ohh thanks for clearing that up, It caused me many headaches

Somehow and I don't know why, Bestbuy took it back so I got my 20$ back that I can use towards getting the steam BTS
