I'm on turn 65 in a Deity game of Fall of rome and have just discovered a very annoying bug.

When conquer a city previous own by me I get happiness for buildings (+2) and trade route (+1) but I don't get the unhappiness from # cities and citizens. A city with 4 citizens create 3*0.8 + 4*0.95 = 6.2 unhappiness. I can se this number in the city breakdown, but for some reason 6.2 is not part of the total. This bug leads to that my happiness increase with 3 instead of decrease with 3.2.

So what is the problem? Isn't this a nice bug?
Problem is when I'm on turn 65 replay a turn the sum is now properly calculated and gives me the -33% combat strength. And I have to go back to turn XX and starve some cites.

When a city gets conquered, it's population gets cut in half resulting in a gain of happiness. And you took it back meaning, its pop got cut in half two times now?

And i'm currently on like turn 150 for fall of rome on prince difficulty, just fighting it out to see how long for the AI to kill me despite their units doing 100+ damage to my units now xD

How's your Deity game going? I'm in the middle of a Deity game myself (Byzantium). Are you playing West or East Rome?

First 10 turns or so were the toughest. I just barely managed to fend off the Hunnic hordes (didn't lose any cities to them). Same success against the Vandal navy (no lost cities).

Against the Goths, I had planned to cut my losses, expecting to lose three cities and then holding them off with a combination of three different cities. I guess the Goths sort of got lost. They took one city but then sent all their forces against Adrianople, which I defended. They didn't even bother with the two other cities I had written off!

Against the Persians, I had planned to lose two cities. They took Edessa early on but for some reason had trouble taking that hilly city (though one of my Legions bravely sacrificed himself to distract the enemy).

Somewhere down the line the Persian army came north a bit and even engaged the Huns right outside my cities.

I was also fortunate enough to have the Barbarian Army uprising take place right outside Damascus, while it was under siege by the Persians. That rogue general actually helped fend off the wave of Persian forces.

After a bit of a lull, I am now a little over midway through the scenario and have taken back my two cities. In fact, I am considering up to 3 possible offensives:

1. Ready to take out some Persian cities. It does look like Persia is preparing a second wave, and I might lose that Theodosian(sp) city to the northeast. But I can hopefully take it back and Persia will have more trouble recovering from 2 or 3 razed cities.

2. Now that the seas are safe, I have a dozen Dromons with nothing to do, so I'm sending them West to help out Western Rome. Fend off the Celts and the Light Blue guys, and liberate some cities from the Vandals.

3. I'm also considering a sneak attack north to one of the Gothic cities. In a test game I did successfully take one of his cities, but it did end up attracting A LOT of his attention (with lots of units). I'm thinking I might not want to try this and hopefully he will keep his units focused on others. (I haven't seen Attila in a LONG while so maybe these two are fighting).

No it's not that, this is a bug. Everything is correct except the sum. But if I reload the game then the total change to correct level. I can easy make two screen shoots before and after reload.

East Rome, I'm on turn 66 and have finally taken back my last city. But the vandals are coming from the shadows to attack unprotected Alexandria.... I only had boats to scout for Vandels...

I will giv u a full report in the Achievement thread when I'm done.

Talking about bug on this scenario, i have played it on Immortal with the Franks yesterday, which by the way was a total curbstomp of the celts, the western romans and to a lesser extent the goths.

The real bug however is the fact that the Huns did not move. No new city, no city capture, they happily stayed where they were. They should come and poke the goths really quickly in my opinion..

The second bug was that the goth took probably 1 city in the Eastern Roman Empire, but stayed idle from there... Until the last 10 turns where they launched everything they had on me. and got crushed by a line of citadels near the alps i made because i just had way to many generals :-)

The Vandals didn't do squat either, i am not even sure they conquered a city.

Bottom line, The celt do work as intended, not so sure about the rest...
