Spycatcher

No clear decision last time on what to build after mass transit and trade routes. Personally I think this city would be a nice battleship producer together with Fort Pornstar. Building a port first for veteran ships would of course be a good thing. :)

The other cities are carrying on with their old ques and no new decisions are needed at the moment. Some micromanaging in Joespaniel (moving 2 workers from non-shielded grassland to ocean) would gain us 4 shields and 2 trade, at the expense of two food.

All comments are welcome! :)

There are some issues you might take into account when producing a few battleships in one city and building a port to make them veteran. If you use the technique of building lots of battleships in one city and then rehoming them to other cities to avoid hapiness problems how does this affect the veteran status of the battleship? If the veteran status is lost building a port is not going to help much. If you decide to not rehome you will get hapiness problems and you might have to build colosseum and other stuff.

Once veteran status is achieved it is never lost, except for when a veteran unit is upraded by Leonardo´s Workshop. :)

In that case I'm in full support of your battleship production cities.

Yep, Spycatcher could sure use a colloseum soon, especially after having produced some units. But until then creating those two trade routes will probably do the trick. :)

I have now uptaded the build ques in the summary (port, battleships and colloseum when needed was added to Spycatcher). :)

Unknown City should build at least one trade route before the bank, IMHO

Would it be possible to squeeze out a trade route in St. Leowind before the aqueduct? It would have to be rushed, most likely, as would the aqueduct if we celebrate anytime soon.

Others all look good to me.

Good point about the trade routes. Swapping build orders now. :)

Good points, Leowind. However, if we celebrate soon I may swith them back. Likely to rush the aqueduct and stuff to be sure we got the most out of celebrating. Then the routes could follow - but, again, only if it's totally necessary. Have to make sure that St. Leowind joins in the celebrations and hits its potential.

Once we have a harbor, market, temple, and aqueduct, the city sould grow well no matter what the trade situation.

Of course, we like that the city is "quaint", but it can still be that way at size 14, no?

With this in mind, I'd like to squeeze in a market in Unknown City - especially as it has a ship floating outside the city. I didn't see that on the current list of improvements - though maybe there is one if we were looking to build a bank. Ah well, I'm at work now and I can't remember if we built a market there - what can I say :crazyeye:

You are quite right, Kev. According to the summary, there is no marketplace in Unknown City, which would need to be built before a bank could be built anyway. I don't quite get what a ship floating outside the city has to do with rushing a marketplace, however

St. Leowind can stay "quaint" at size 4 if we want. We old crotchety retired folk get cranky with too much growth anyway  Actually I was just thinking it might be awhile before we celebrate what with all the warmongering going on, and a trade route might be nice. Without celebrations it will be some time before an aqueduct would do much good (though with St. Leowind's production, will be awhile before it would be built).

Unknown City is currently building a marketplace so no, it has none yet. :) I agree with Leowind about one trade route before aqueduct in St. Leowind. If we should happen to celebrate before the freight is finished then rushing both aqueduct and freight won´t cost much more than just aqueduct.

Ah, I should have remembered that the market is underway in Unknown.

Leowind: I only mention the ship thing because of the unhappiness factor of having the ship outside of the city. I thought the market would be a quicker way to get happiness in the short term and then go for freight. Looks like I preempted myself anyway as UC is already involved in building a market.

And I'll be happy to get St. Leowind into the trading community right away. :) I imagine that it will still be as picturesque as ever no matter what the size. I also think that we may be celebrating sooner than we think as we're using up that tech tree pretty quickly and we agreed to celebrate once flight was the only choice to study.

I can't wait to play on and see what the next turns bring!
