since new patch, build trade network is called build trade

what does it do? creates just roads? i am not sure

After assigning a worker to this task I noticed it went around building roads to Strategic and Luxiry resources, and then to unconnected cities. Not sure but it also might lead a worker to build roads to a border with another civ.

No, the "build trade network" option won't build a road to the border of another civ ... unless you have a Right of Passage with that civ. In that case it will start building roads to the resources and cities of that civ as well! Basically the worker will consider all territory it is legally allowed to wander onto. And in fact, people have in these forums reported that with an RoP the worker would work on the other civ's terrority even before your own territory was suitably connected. So if you have an RoP with another civ you have a land connection with, don't think about using the "build trade network" command.

That's one command I've never used...

Which is exactly why I've suggested to add a "worker command screen" (foreman or whatever you want to call it) just like the governor screen so that you can give workers a combination of specific duties and limitations.

they DO build roads to other civs if you have a town on the other side of that civ. Be carefull here, they will FIRST build the road in AI land, then in yours.
