How do i build an embassy after i discovered writing???

in case you start to scream, yes i read the manual, and the Civiliopedia, but it just says there to press the foreign advisor button in the city screen of the capital... i searched the whole screen, but couldn't find anything that had to do with the foreign advisor... i am currently in republic mode, i don't think that has to do anything with it, but well... anyway... plz help

Im not gonna scream at you because this one is truely hard to find out....i only came across it by accident...to establish embassies is quite easy...you capitol is distiguished by a Star....and so is everyone's elses...simply double click on your capitols star...a list of possible embassies is available there...

thx pplz... the manual was absolutely not clear on this one... i mean they say the foreign button in your capital... ow well... thanks guys

the manual is out dated in many things...
1. research writing
2. find the others capital cite (rome, Washionton)
2. on the main screen , double click on the capital city

that should do it

if i remembered correctly.
it took me awile to figure it out to...

ps its realy sad that the actual book is so outdated but i'd rather be playing the game than wait another month..

you can also right on the capital city... this will give you a menu where you can "conduct espiangae". click on this and it ill whow you a list of cutures you have contacted and then tell you how much it costs to put an embassy in each....

Do you have to have an embassy if you weant to trade resources? When I tries to get iron from other civs on the trade screen, I get the message that i don't have any connections or something, but I have an harbour in my capitol... What is wrong?

Maybe they don't. They might have the resource, but not have it linked by road or harbor to their trading cities. Number of possibilities here. I don't know if you have to have an embassy; I don't think so.
