I'm just checking in to see if anyone might have a solution for this problem... or is having this problem.
So, I've played dozens games. I haven't had any problems with Wonder Movies, graphics, or sound. About the only problem that I've had so far is that my computer doens't have enough ram and video memory to make playing larger maps practical.
That aside, suddenly, when I try to use a great person to build a shrine in a city that founded a religion, it causes civ4 to crash with no error message to the desktop. I've built multiple shrines in each game I've played and never had any problems until now.
All my drivers/software are up-to-date, including OS (xp), soundcard (creative sb card), videocard (nvidia card). I haven't changed any settings in Civ4 or installed any new software or drivers since the game was last working correctly. I've tried rebooting. I've tried lowering all my in-game video settings to min specs. I haven't had any problems with other wonder movies in the same game that first caused this problem with the building a shrine and crashing.
Anyone have any ideas? Or do I need to do a clean install and/or wait for the patch?
