[BTS] Buying digital copy of civ4.

Is there any difference between, Steam or GoG, versio of Civ4 which I should prefer if I am going to be using mods?

GoG is best, for players it is best because it works right away, while steam requires you to enable the beta version of the game for C2C to work well.
Steam version is bad for c++ modders, as it is impossible to attach Visual Studio to the game process for debugging purposes.

EDIT: Well this was a little bit of a nice suprise, it turns out I actually already own CivIV on GoG .
