I felt like sharing this accurate (to the best of my ability) reconstruction of five Byzantine monuments.

-The Nea Ecclesia. Church in Constantinople, does not survive. Concept art found in Byzantium1200.com

-The Hagioi Apostoloi of Thessalonike. Church in Thessalonike, surviving. Concept art from photographs.

-The Hagia Sophia. Massive model i built.

To be implemented:

-Cathedral of Hagia Eirene. Church in Cosntantinople, surviving, concept art from photos.

-The Theodosian walls (part). Reconstruction found at Byzantium1200.

You can suggest altered textures if you like. This is the metropolis of the set:

Edit: The wall is done too :)

At first glance, it looks very classic-Roman, but when I did the double take to look at the details, I began picking out all the monuments. The Hagia Sofia looks good without minarets.

Are the two roofing patterns (orange and a darker brown-red) intentional?

I just thought they looked good together, and would be a bit boring to only have one (which would be the red in that case)

This is how the Hagia Sophia looks in a close-up of the Wonder created out of my same model:

The set is now finished :)
