Most people here will have heard of FreeCiv, a freely available game inspired by Civ2.
But did you know there is another longstanding game with the same inspiration?
Meet C-Evo!
C-Evo has been in development since the times of Windows 95, mostly being a single person project. It aims to improve and fix mistakes from Civ2, and not to overhaul the game. It aims at a slim rule set, and the AI is made to win, not to roleplay.
As you can see from the screenshots it really has a Civ2 feeling too!
Civ-Evo Distant Horizon is currently available for Windows and Linux, in English, Russian, Italian, Czech, German, and simplified and traditional Chinese.
