:thanx:

I am glad you liked it. If you try the new version, I hope you will enjoy it even more! Now there are four scenarios to choose from! And if you'd like to post a screen - that would be great!

silver 2039:
Who said it was easy to rule the world? But you do have an impressive army! What strikes me, however, is that despite of all the wars, little has changed om the world map (except for your conquests). This shows things are pretty stable, so I am happy! It also seems you're close to the WWII and modern units. It will be fun to see how you like them!

When it comes to fascism, I am not that surprised. During war, and especially for religious civs, the AI usually switches the government to one that doesn't generate war weariness. What is surprising, however, is that it usually prefers fascism to communism, despite the fact that it offers less benefits. In the Rising Sun this is even more true, since I fixed a bug - they forgot to set diplomatic interaction modifiers for fascism. I also reduced the assimilation rate. In the case of Poland, which has communism as a shunned government, this may be understandable, but I can't figure out the general preference for fascism that the game seems to show...

This scenario is great! I am playing as Iroquois and I just smashed through all of America and Aztecs, completely destroying them. muwahahahah

The revolting in Paris finally ends.

I sign peace with the Incas. The attack at Tienstein is massacred

Tienstein1.JPG

I sign alliance with Persia against India.

The first British Ironclad Monitor enters service from Birsbane shipyards. However the Japanese sail by with their own Ironclad. Well then…

I kill a Spanish spy near St. Lawrence.

Paris riots again.

Copenhagen has fallen to the Ottomans. The city is depopulated from ethnic cleansing from the Fascist Poles.

I begin building up Naval infantry for amphibious assaults.

I sign peace with France.

Copenhagen has bee retaken by the Polish. It seems Germany is more or less a battlefield where Ottoman, German, and Polish along with the occasional English soldiers clash.

I launch an amphibious assault on Copenhagen….which fails. Bloody Ulans.

Copenhagen.JPG

Russia has been expanding into Xijiang where the Chinese cities were burnt.

I reinforce Manchester because the Americans have been moving troops near it.

Madrid in North American revolts and joins me. It is renamed Fredricton.

Here is British America now:

British_North_America.JPG

The Portuguese prove they have Ironclads. Joyous.

Mongolian Tibet has fallen to the Chinese.

The Germans have retaken Copenhagen.
I sign peace with China and get the uselss Siberian city of Toledo which I cede to Russia.

Toledo.JPG

My naval forces reach Shantung. I bombard the city with good effect and attack with Naval Infantry

Shantung.JPG

The city falls and is renamed Boreno. I land a spy near Maco which is promptly killed by Chinese cavalry.

City_falls.JPG

I launch an amphibious assault on Bergen I kill the Musket Infantry but there is still a Musket man underneath. . I sign peace with Scandnavia.

Bergan.JPG

The only person I am at war with now is the evil Fascist Poles.

BTW a suggestion abou Persia. Right now it's a pretty much non-factor in anything. Perhaps you could turn it into the IL-Khanate of Tamarlange? Or another intreasting thing to do would turn it into the Mughal Empire. You could increase their military strenght and stuff and make the capital Kabul. The early game situation would be most intreasting.

OK, did another d/load and got the text.
Now works fine.

kevin 2350: I am glad everything worked out for you. I hope you'll enjoy the Rising Sun!

silver 2039: I think you did the Russians a great favor! ;) Historically, they lacked a port (until Peter conquered Poland and parts of Sweden/Finland/Estonia). In game, not having one also forces them to expand on land.

Actually, the Peter's conquests are interesting in another way as well. Poland had been the only country in Europe emerging from the medieval times with some form of democracy (it was limited to about 10% of the population), where kings were elected and both the national and local assemblies were strong. Under Russian occupation during Peter's time, the system was destroyed by giving a veto to every nobleman, which paralyzed the democratic process. After the Russians decided to share the spoils with Prussia and Austria and the Polish lands were partitioned, this triumph of absolute monarchy over democracy was made into a huge propaganda victory. Even today you can find 'Polonische Reichstag' as a description for bad government in Germany. Later, when the modern totalitarian forms of government emerged, there was no country that suffered as much from both fascism and communism as Poland did. It is a pity one can't have two shunned governments in civ...

Regarding Persia, I actually did play with these ideas! The reason I decided against it, however, was that by 1500 AD a new, weaker but more stable Persia was emerging. And this is actually reasonably reflected in the game as it is now.

Moin Pawel,
i tried this scen for a few rounds and i must say it is pretty cool.
First i see the biq i thought
"mmh whats what? english in australia and spanish in argentinia in 200 BC?!"
but i think its ok whith the rounds that come in game.

But more worst annoying was as the Byzantines build the Izmo Shrine!?!
I stopped now at this point playing and try to change this at the editor. Im a really rookie with this, but i think it may be work if i use the flavour thing. So that the Great Wonders will be only build in the right part of the world. Im sensitive with this wonder things since i played Rhyes Civ.^^

I´ll play on must say

:thanx:

for your great work and effort!!! :goodjob:

Hello Blackbeard!

So you live in Westfalen? I have a cousin in Wuppertal. :D

Anyway, you're right about 200 BC. It is too difficult for the AI to reproduce the actual historic development on its own. In the early scenarios it need some help. :) But since the idea is to simulate history from the Japanese (or Asian) perspective, it is important that the British eventually do get to Australia. This is one of the most important features of these scenarios. Unlike most others, they don't focus on capturing the starting point, but rather to get the dynamics right. The same goes for Spaniards in South America. In Roman times there was no Spain, so to account for the hispanic population in South America, they have to be pre-placed. In the later scenarios, however, the starting point reflects the actual situation at that time rather well.

When it comes to the Great Wonders, you certainly have a point there as well. If you want them to show up at the right places, you need to use flavors. Actually, you can use them for techs too. I chose not to guide the AI in this respect. However, if you want to give it a try, you are most welcome to it! It will require some play testing, though. If you want to play around with it, make sure you download the latest version. In the original 2.71 release I forgot to include some of the intended updates. These were very minor things, really, but the new files should be available as soon as Thunderfall copies them to the right directory, which probably already has happened by the time you read this message. And don't forget to post your findings! It would be very interesting to see!

Pawel, this mod is fabulous. One of the best.
When playing Japan I can only build the step pyramid and the pyramid on the Japanese islands. which means that I only get the granaries in 4 cities.
is there a reason why pyramids cannot be built in a Japanese city on the mainland?

Ah....well a stronger Russia will be intreasting. They are already expanding and conquereing in Central Asia. It looks like China is on the fall to me though several of their cities have been burnt/captured. They did manage to take Tibet however.
Mongalia and Arabia are both accurately decadent. Poland is remarkablby resilant though. They have stood against a combined alliance of Germany, Russia, England, and the Ottomans even managaing to go on the offensive against German lands.

kevin2350:
Thank you! I am glad you are enjoying the mod!

As for the pyramids, this is the way things are supposed to work. In addition to the appropriate technologies, a Step Pyramid (small wonder) is now required for The Pyramids. Since it, among other things, allows a city to grow beyond population 6, it is treated by the game in the same way as an Aqueduct, and will thus not appear in the menu for a city on a river. In the four scenarios, The Pyramids are already in Egypt, and sometimes the Step Pyramid is pre-placed as well. I hope this is what happens in your case too...

silver 2039:
So the Russians are expanding East? Well, that makes historic sense! I am a little worried that once you get to the late indutrial era, Russia, Germany and some other nations may have problems with getting resources that will allow them to build their special units, which wouldn't let you to see them in action. I fixed that in version 2.71, though.

Right, what was happening was that I would build Step on the Island and that does not allow Pyramid on the mainland.
Now that I build Step on mainland everything is fine.
As I said, this mod is a beauty.
thanx :goodjob:
