The Ottomans have a large amount of gold and I am happy to sell to them.

China, Korea, Persia, India, are all technologically backward which is accurate. They are also equivalent to each other which is good.

Sell Persia Theology for Spice, incense, gold, and gpt

I have traded with everyone except the poor people the Arabs and Mongols and Japanese who had nothing to trade. I am now making 91 gold per/turn at max research rate.
With 1604 in my coffers. I am researching Constitutional Monarchy

I trade Magnetism for Military tradition from Portugal and enter the industrial Age.

I start research on nationalism. It is the year 1710.
I am trying to get enough forces to invade the Zulu.

China threthans us for Magnetism. I refuse. He shuts up.

My knight pillages outside Bapedi.

I sign peace with Zulu in exchange for 3 cities. Well that was easy. I decide to invade France instead.

I attack Paris but am unable to take it due to large amounts of Musketeers. I regroup and wait for further reinforcements.

Once again I fail to take the city. The French manage to hang on.

Thats pretty much the end of the French then.


BTW it may just be me. But industry is'nt very good. By that I mean it takes up to 6 turns to build a cavalry in London and it really should'nt take that long. I had the similar problem with japan. Poor production.

Change German Infantry to Weirmacht
P-51, M-26 perishing and panther aren't used why they should be used?
Change Russian fighter to MiG 3

The King unit is silly please remove it. Elvis isn't that important.
UAV should have an upgrade to a unit that can attack the predator is armed today.
Destroyer should transport 1 unit
Attack sub should transport 1 unit
National Guard is silly they get the same training and the same equipment as the rest of the US army so drop this unit.
German fighter should be either ME 109 or FW 190 take your pick
Heavy bomber should be available to more nations. The Germans, Japanese and Russians did make a few heavy bombers during WW II and would have made more had the war went differently and in any case the Russians produced an exact copy of the B-29 after the war so they could carry the large atomic bombs at that time.
Make the Japanese Carrier simply Axis carrier and make it available to Italy and Germany they shared technology and Italy did make a carrier Germany was making one but didn't finish it.
Early jet make the American one P-80 or F-86 the Russian one MiG 15, German one Me 262, English one Gloster Meteor Japanese one Kikka Italian one CC-2.
Kamikaze make a version available to the Germans called the Leonidas squadrons they did use them to ram our bombers once and might have done so more if given the chance.
Make a Kamikaze or suicide bomber available to the Arabs for obvious reasons.
Longship should be available to the Russians they got their name the Russ because of Viking rulers way back when.
Change American fighter to P-38 Lightning.
Make light tank available earlier under a different tek it makes no sense to have it available when you do.
Change the name of Modern Carrier to Super Carrier that is what they are called by everyone.
Make Jet fighters for Russians and former soviet clients and Chinese MiG 29's
Make Jet fighters for French and french clients Mirages
Make war elephant available to Carthage
Make the fire cannon available to everyone and available under gunpowder upgradeable to cannon that makes sense.
Change the name of American Marine to USMC.
Fire Catapult should be available to everyone and be an upgrade to the normal catapult.
Also make the entire catapult line more available and upgradeable.

Please add the following resources and make them required for units or buildings if you should.

You have made a great mod but if you add even half of my suggestion is will be the best mod ever.
 
Oh you should also have a fighter/bomber during the WW II era. USA should have P-47 Thunderbolt, Russia should have Ilyushin Il-2 "Shturmovik", Germany should have Junkers Ju-87 "Stuka", England should have DeHavilland "Mosquito", Japan should have Mitsubishi Ki-51 "Sonia". You can then make these fighter/bombers upgrade to the stealth fighter.
 
Mprilla: I am glad you liked the scenario, and thanks for your suggestios. Unfortunately it is not feasible to add so many units at this stage, but thank you all the same.

silver 2039: It was exciting to see the development of your game! Some things went the way I hoped, some were a little surprising. I immediately fixed the Spanish capital, and I will adjust the time line. It is good that Portugal is in good shape. I will try to figure out what they do in Macchu Picchu! It is funny that Poland, the other newcomer, is also doing so well. They are don't build settlers and they have low aggression, so in principle they are confined to their four cities. So maybe they had nothing better to do than to build lots of improvements! :) I am also surprised that the French did not expand either in North America or South-East Asia. But it was really fun to see that El Cid had crossed the Atlantic! I should perhaps name a few more units so one can see where the AI sends them! :lol: From the world map it seems that the global situation is reasonably well balanced. It would be great to see a few more turns!

As for production, I don't really know what to do about that. I guess London isn't really the best city for that, being surrounded by lots of water. Maybe things will get better once you start building factories?

I agree that it is always nice to have more units and wonders, but there is a price to pay in terms of scenario size. Right now the scenario is very size effective, since it cleverly uses all the Conquests graphics that is already on your hard disk. Also, given the limited number of parameters that can be varied, it is not trivial to introduce significant differences between units and find meaningful functions for wonders and buildings. In the same way, additional luxuries can make the game too easy. Most important, however, is that what is really nice about these scenarios is that they are well balanced. Even assuming that I would incorporate these changes, it is likely that they playability of the scenarios would actually be worse - or at least require lots of development and re-balancing. And I simply don't have the time... However, if anyone want to use the mod to play around with such additions, you are most welcome to it.

I also disagree with some of the suggested changes. Most importantly, each unit represents something the size of a corps or army. Assigning it a name based on a piece of hardware is just silly. Also, I try to keep a uniformity of names, calling American marines USMC, or German infantry the Wehrmacht (which, by the way, referred to the army as a whole and not to infantry in particular), would break this pattern. The artillery has two parallell upgrade paths - one Eastern - designed in a somewhat different way. There is thus a reason why they don't mix. Subs transporting units is not very realistic either, considering that by that time each represents some 50-100k men with lots of heavy equipment. Historcally, it is true that the first Russian (not Muscovite) dynasty was founded by Swedish Vikings, but they never acquired the ability to build Viking ships, so why should they have them in the game? On closer scrutiny some of these changes are not entirely trivial. On the other hand, it would be fun to give Elephants to Hannibal! :D

I would, however, be happy to discuss these things, and may make some limited changes. But right now I am mostly interested in some feedback about game play for the 1500 AD scenario. :lol:
 
Considering the successful testing so far, I decided to include the beta 6 in version 2.7 of the scenario, which has now been released. I would still, however, be very interested in feedback that can be incorporated in later releases. The other three scenarios have been updates slightly, for instance having Light Cavalry added.
 
Celebrations are held throughout England as mainland France is conquered. Our colonies are prospering as well and new colonies continue to be founded.

Several trade embargos are singed against us by the remnants of the French but it is clear French powers is broken.

The French beg us for peace but it is decided that they should be wiped from the face of the earth. We prepare for invasion. Our ships are loaded with Cavalry, Cannons, and Guard Infantry.

We will strike St.Pierre with this force another one if being prepared to strike Vietnam from Australia.

Port Moresby is founded in Papua New Guinea

Our invasion force sets sail. It is large more than enough to crush the French. Perhaps it will subdue the arrogant American breakaway colonies as well.

In the meanwhile we have discovered Nationalism and our people are up in arms against the French. Some mass upgrades are carried out.

After a short round of bombardment St.Pierre falls easily.

Our forces are transported further south to deal with the Americans. America will be reincorporated again. In France street riots occur in Paris.

Since we have bigger fish to fry we allow the French to exist in Vietnam but impose harsh terms on them.

We discover that India is richer than we are which motivates us towards Industrialization so we can field larger forces.

Persia is at war with the Arabs as we notice Alexandria has fallen. Technologies have been sold to many nations and their gold fills our coffers.
 
Our forces mass outside Philadelphia and Atlanta. Additional troops are being brought from England.

The American people of Atlanta realizing the folly of their ways overthrow the American rebels and embrace the English!

This is excellent news as the northern front is closed and our forces can be concentrated in the south.

Our undefended Cannon is destroyed by an Iroquois spy…. They’ll pay for that later…

China for whatever reason declares war on the Spanish. We continue massing troops.

Scandinavia and China sign alliance against Spanish that is good for me as Spain is major competition.

We are almost ready for war to win back America. Our time is near…

Cavalry from St. Lawrence marches on Philadelphia. American Musket men are cut down by our superior forces. The city falls and is renamed Toronto.

The larger group of our forces from New England advances toward New York. The Duke of York himself is on the ship that bombards the city. He is eager to get his city back.

The Americans make no counterattacks. According to my military advisor we outnumber them greatly. Bombardment against New York fails and our cavalry are forced to attack without artillery support.

Small casualties are sustained but our technological superiority wins the day.

The Duke of York is overjoyed. I decide to push with my remaining Cavalry to Washington. This proves disaterous asour attack grinds to a halt at the gates of the city as our Cavalry are gunned down and forced to retreat. Only 2 survive badly damaged. I decide to regroup at New York before pushing any further.

However I do get the conslation the American defenders are badly battered as well. Also I decide to build more Cavalry and Rifleman instead of Gurad Infantry as this combo is more effective. Guard infantry does look more British though...
 
An American counterattack wipe out our Cavalry outside the city…. Ouch…

To make matters worse New York riots. Fortunately Industrialization is discovered this will help build our strength.

For now I decide to hold off on the attack against Washington until reinforcements arrive.

Cavalry from Toronto launch an attack against Boston. The Americans inflict significant casualties but the city falls.

This last action has depleted my forces. I can push no further till reinforcements arrive. Due to poor production capacity (It will take time to build factories) That might be a while.
