Call for Republic

[Provolution]

Japanatica is ripe for a major reform, and not a revolution. Japanatica makes reforms, not revolutions. We should quietly and elegantly transcend to Republic the next turnchat, so our transition to Democracy will go smoother. I know many citizens are sick and tired of the extreme corruption and what it has cost Japanatica, I am actually curious to what the savings would have been if we built it in Rome in the first place, in shields and gold. I hope this discussion will lead to a Domestic Ministry polling/discussion around Republic.

From the MSAV standpoint, the military reform is more or less complete, and by next turnchat most units will have been disbanded/rebuilt. I hope we can have a broad consensus for moving directly to Republic next turnchat, after an official poll by the President and Domestic (Sir Donald is actually Empreror now).

No need to get an Aquarius American hippie kick out of this, it is just a quiet transition to a new type of Oligarchy, the Japanese Restoration of the central Power, and the leadership of the military-industrial complex and Keiretsu.

What the deuce are you talking about? Republic =/= oligarchy. This isn't real life Japan, the military doesn't rule supreme, and there aren't nobility or the elite class. And when has a monarch ever willingly give up power to the people?

A smooth 1 turn transition to a Republic would not bother me at all. We would gain back anything lost in the transition very quickly and upgrading our government would allow us to identify trouble spots for the future Democracy. Let's upgrade now and continue in our search for the technology of Democracy.

I'm all for a swift 1-turn revolution to a Republic. Seeing as we won't be getting Democracy anytime soon, it makes sense to take the lesser-but-still-better-than-monarchy government while we can. However, I would like it understood that this is simply an interim government until we can firmly establish a democracy, and not a permenant change.

We are very large, and any future wars could lead to us being even more corrupt than we are now. Communism would be nice in case of this.

Then again, we are religious, and we can change governments easilly, so I say switch to Republic, and if we end up conquering more land than we can handle jump in the tanks and call me "comrade snipelfritz".

I've never been much of a fan of republic, the few times I've tried it have been unmitigated disasters. It might be kinda cool to see what others do with it.
