Call to Service - Secretary of State

There is a vacancy in the position of Secretary of State. That office has already been declared vacant. If there are any citizens who feel they can fill this position, please PM me or state your interest here.

Because this position must be confirmed by the judiciary, I will not make an appointment of State Secretary until the Chief Justice has been validated in his appointment by the Censor. I also will wait until the Citizen's Complaint trial of our sitting Chief Justice has come to a verdict.

Guys - if you think this should go differently, let me know, beforehand. Swiss, this means you particularly, because running the confirmation poll is your pidgin.

Might sound a bit stupid but whats the point in assigning someone new to the job? this term is nearly over and by the time the judicial review has been finished then will there really be any time for an effect to be had.

We need someone in case we get offered any trades..

Maybe we can ask the judicary to do a reshuffling of their docket.. to get the SoS approved before other cases. Again if the present judicary is intact after this CC going on then this confirmation has no bearing on the outcome of the other cases.

I will not start any discussion out side of the War department...some of you are looking for any excuse to attack an official for what you determine to be exceeding our CoL mandated positions...

while donsig may have been upto other things elsewhere what he says is true here, as trades are generally posted in a thread and then discussed anyways all we need to do is have someone open the save and see what is on offer.

And like I said..I wont do it. Let a citizen do it or a DP. The Science Minister has more rights to this than me or Chill..however if Chill wants to post he can.

I will not fall into the trap of "bad appearances" which is what is being mentioned many times about the present CJ not stepping aside.

i agree where it shouldnt be you, however chill being president doesnt it say something about taking over the duties of secretary of state till we have another one (i dunno it might not) so doing it for a few days isnt that much.

The CoL does not have any clause about anyone picking up duties..with the exception being if the President is vacant.


With all the confirmation polls, CCs and JRs...I know that I have have been extra careful to stay within the CoL. Even an non-intentional slipup right now would be costly as it appears some people are out for blood.. If none of this would be going on then I would have posted a poll as a citizen but not now. I was even hesitant to post where I thought the next city should go.

I would imagine that Chill is doing the same thing.
