Hi. I'm new to Civ IV and have a few questions people might be able to help me with:

1) when creating a custom game, is there any way to permanently shut down (until needed) the number of AIs?

2) can you customise your leader as you could in Civ III?

3) how do you follow your units automatically, as per earlier Civs? I don't want to manually have to look each time to see what they've come across

That's it for now. Thanks, all.

Yes when you get to the screen that has you and the ai's, just select the tab that has a drop down for closed. That measn that player will not be in the game.

Yesa, but can you do it permanently? On mine, whenever I go into that screen, I get presented with all the AIs and I have to keep shutting them down!!

Unfortunately most of the custom game settings don't get saved from one game to the next, so you have to keep changing everything again. It's very annoying IMO and I hope it gets patched.

im not sure about this, but i think you can fiddle around the .ini or some config file to set the default number of opponents. but usually i only change the random seed so i can actually get new maps

I don't like playing against 11 others, that's the problem! Thanks anyway
