Can I remove the "Fort" improvement?

Can't remember, can forts be bombed?

Yes, forts can be destroyed by airstrikes, but not as easily as other improvements. On average it seems to take three or four attempts to destroy an unprotected fort (no anti-aircraftunits nearby).

So thats a point up for forts and you can base an aircraft there too
