Can I Run The Game?

thats the exact computer i have. Can i run the game? It starts up, then it has a small black box and gives me 2 options to run it. I have tried both, but my disk stops spinning.

Welcome to CFC .

According to this chart the graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250) is under the minimum requirements.
Looking at where it is...if you haven't updated your graphics card drivers (you can find them somewhere here), i'd suggest that you try it, there is maybe a small, small chance that it might work, but i would not put too much hope into it.

Civilization 4 shouldn't be a problem. The graphics card is as performant as the graphics card i have myself, and the game runs fine with that.

thanks man. Well, this sucks...i thought i could run it. I guess im going to get civ 4. Whats your fav civ? Cus i really loved civ 3 complete. With a laptop i cant buy a graphics card or somthing?

Every civ at its time . I loved Civ2, i loved Civ3 when i got it, and i loved Civ4 when i got it. But everyone has his own taste .

No, not really, a new one would be needed.
Theoretically there's the option for "external graphics cards", but these are quite expensive.

ok, last thing. I think i had to download directx, and i accidently dchose to play offline, (before the game started up it asked to play in offline mode) i chose yes, but now when i start it up it says it cannot play in offline mode at this time. but i have a connection now...i just want it so i can start it up again.

Normally a popup should show up to ask you if you want to go online .
Else i guess there's something in steam where you can change it, but i don't have any experience with it .

ok, so apparently i did have the system requrments. My friend helped me out...and i feel so stupid cus i diidnt let it fully download.

Don't just look at the bar at the top saying pass/fail, look at all the different components. For civ5, it says that my CPU fails when it is on the line, and that my graphics card model fails, but all the GPU sub-reqs are met. I can run the game, at a somewhat low FPS, on min settings.
