can only pick random leaders

I am running a ibm t40

I have 2 problems

Problems 1: Can only pcik random civilization:
1. I can only pcik random civilization
2. If I try to pick a civilization - the game locks.
3. If I pick the random civilization - the game will load

Problem 2: Black Map
1. I think this is the same problem as others have posted in this thread.

Is there an official location where all the bugs are being compiled?
Anyone else with a similar problem?

I tried to run a scenario (earth) and the computer froze at the choose civilization screen as well.
