Can we set our starting locations yet? There's not much worse being a German, and starting in South America, and having China in North America, England in Asia, Russia in northern europe, etc...

Do they have scenarios with proper starting locations, etc? I apologize if it's become obvious, but I've played it bug-filled from the very beginning until mid-January. I've liked Civ2 better because of it's ability to use a good, semi-accurate starting map.

So... Can anyone send me a personal message letting me know this for sure? I can't seem to find these answers immediately, anyway. I've downloaded some graphic improvement mods. Some of you guys are very talented!

It's folks like you who'll make CIV3 greater than CIV2!

Well, mr. divebomber, you could download Marla Singer's World Map with accurate starting locations. Be sure to read the Readme before starting, though.

Can someone please answer YES or NO???

PLEASE!!!!????

Can we set our own starting points yet?

Are you sure?

There are I think two utilities you can use, created by helpful fellow posters, which allow you to place civs in their proper spots, but the civ editor doesn't allow you to do this yet.

Look in the Utilities forum, you'll probably find it there.

Did I do something wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong; that feature is not quite working yet so the controls are disabled.

Wouldn't a normal CIV player find being able to set starting points at LEAST something important? Why would they not have that in the latest issue? Isn't that...

I'm sorry, but isn't that really bad?

I can't understand why they would do that.

You're a good group, guys. I'm sorry I was so impatient. I want to play the game again, but I don't want those bugs. (Civ3 sure does take a LOT longer per turn, though, doesn't it!)
