This is the oddest thing. This city is on a island with 3 cities of other civs. It is my only city there and it has no harbor so it is unconnected. It has access to one saltpeter as you can see but in the city view screen it says the city has access to twwo saltpeters! Not that I don't like this.:D Now my question to you is: Can you find the other saltpeter?

I'll give you 50 dollars if you can!:p

Ummm, I mean the 2ND saltpeter.:D

I've found the 2nd one! The FIRST one is the one I'm looking for... :p

Now, $50 thankyou...?

I personally don't mind the game thinking I have two saltpeter when I have only one but I would like to know if it is a glitch or I am blind or overlooked some detail.

Ok, saltpeter must be on a square that

(a) Is controlled by you (cyan territory)
(b) Has a road

So, it must mean that either the Iron ore produces saltpeter, or theres saltpeter UNDER
the 1st saltpeter?...

Wow, Iron ore producing saltpeter...amazing!:D

Also another wierd thing is in the domestic advisor screen it says there's only one saltpeter near that town. Very odd.

a city is obvoiusly built on a saltpeter.
I though that everyone knew about recousces and luxuries being hidden, with a city on them.

Blitzer, the city isn't built on saltpeter as you can see from the right picture, also note that King of Camelot says it's only one saltpeter near the city (the one we see).

But one solution no-one has mentioned, which may be the correct one is this: The city is connected to an AI city. If the AI city has a harbour, this is a valid trade route to the rest of your empire (if you have one harbour there), giving the city access to the same saltpeter as the rest of the empire.

Do you possess another source of saltpeter (on your main continent or elsewhere)?

Do any of the other cities (owned by other civs) on the island have a harbor (for instance the city to the south of you)?

Are you at peace with the other civs on the island?

If so, you are using the other civ's harbors as part of you trade network -- you don't need a harbor of your own (until you're at war).

How do I collect my $50? ;)

Catt, seems like we both found the answer, but fortunately I posted first, so I take the 50 bucks:D

OK, here goes my guess which could be likely. Do any of the other cities on that island have a harbor and you're connected to it? Also, are you also at peace wihth that civ and all civs between you and that harbor? From my experience, you can connect yourself through the trade network of another civ as long as you are at peace with that civ and connected without going through war territory. So you're getting the one from your main land and the one in this city. So check your trade screen, I bet it shows this one as being hooked up to the trade network.

If it says you have access to two, but only one in that town, you're possibly connected to one via a road to another civ. On the right side, that worker building a road, follow the path of the road down to the dark blue civ(Germany?). They might have a source of saltpeter that you have access to

Ok, to clear up some things it is my only city on the island. It is the only saltpeter on the island. I was too lazy to see if the other cities had made a new harbor..(they hadn't before)but I have some other important info. There are two other saltpeters on my main island(my only other 2) as you can see below. So if somehow my island city was connected to my main island(the advisor screen says it is not connected) then my cities on the main island would have three saltpeter, right? but they all say it only has to saltpeter sources. Mean while the lone island city still says it has 2 not three. I think this shoots down all your theories so get some new ones!:p

I like the Iron ore producing saltpeter theory. Now I just need to find a uranium producing horse!

lol,

Radioactive pony!
Do you think that would give a bonus to horsemen?

Yeah, don't come near me or you will die of radiation...then the horesman falls off his horse!
