Can you slide the science to generate more gold?

I have military units I want to upgrade but I'm short on gold. Is there a way you can do this like in previous civ games?

No. The only way you can really do so is by choosing district projects that generate gold (encampment, harbor, commercial, or industrial).

Remember to sell your diplomatic favor to AI, they pay obscene amounts of gold for it. It's almost an exploit how much money you can get selling unneeded diplomatic favor (and also sell strategic resources, although you don't get quite as much)
